Dear players and game developers. I want to discuss with you the following events: on the 19.06.2016, due to the controversy with the developers Sandern and Mr.Darkness, Mr.Darkness is practically leaving team and the project Lambda Wars behind.
For a start who am I and why do I have the right to write about such issue. Pretty much all players, who have played Lambda Wars for at least fifty hours, met me on multiple occasions. I am a person who gained more than four-hundred on Lambda Wars, won the only official tournament on Lambda Wars and by this day is considered to be the top player in the game (aside from Handsome Jack). I am an active tester of the game, I always report on bugs and consider the possibly on performing various balance changes in the game and care for the project in general.
I have decided to write this because the recent news of Mr.Darkness leaving was a pain to hear. What surprised me was that, Mr. Darkness actively did something from the game and has held active contact with the community. Saying that I can’t but mention the efforts that people like: Sandern, Progysy and others have put into the game. You have done so much for the project, created the whole thing from scratch, without you Lambda Wars would not have been right now as we know it. However, all of you have practically lost interest in the project. You don’t have to lie to people saying “I am waiting for Source 2”. This engine is not even out yet, it can come out in five years. Answer me a question: if for five years you do nothing for a game, how many players will be left playing it? Everybody knows the answer the this question – none. A more valid option: work on the game constantly, correct the balance, add new units, new game mode and maps, polish the game until it shines bright – and when the long awaited Source 2 will come out, you can port the perfect game onto Source 2 and give the ability for the project to blaze out with new power. If you lose the community, what will you do? Begin from the zero?
Nobody asked me to write this post, its just the two cents my soul wanted to drop in. Why do I worry for much for Lambda Wars? Just because I am in love with this game. The idea, incarnation and the support of the developers have made me, play once and remain forever. I am a person with a medical degree going to start learning Python, so that I will have even more opportunity to help the game. Money, awards dont interest me – I just dont want to let such amazing game die off. Now here I am here, reading that the person that has inspired me to do this – is leaving...
Now I want to turn to Sandern for a moment: I know why such events have occurred. Like an average player I will explain what has happened. Lambda Wars started to lag horribly: it was impossible to even play one good match per day with the “Auto Disconnect 25 sec”. Online with fifty-sixty online on average has dropped to twenty-thirty. One more month had this situation continued and the game would have had no one playing it anymore. To fix the issue right away Mr.Darkness has came out to fix the issue right way, releasing an unfinished update which had fixed the main issue but spawned a few minor bugs and by the next day they were resolved. For the first time in a month I was able to have a match with eight players. If I am wrong, write it down. Who else would have done something but him? Did the other developers not know about the problems?
I want to say this to you, Sandern: no matter what happens between you two, all of us developers and average players are striving to reach a single goal – make the game better. Nobody will receive a cent for their work – and this I perfectly understand. Instead of cutting the efforts to make the game better, make the community bigger you will need to help them. I am just pointing out an opinion (at least the Russian speaking side.) community: if you take away the last Russian speaking developer, the game will become yet another long forgotten project that was once great. You can consider this a favour, however you like. Don’t let the project die – that’s all I hope for.
With respect, one of your most loyal fans of Lambda Wars, AnubiS.

I still care about the game and the community, but I think I'm literally going insane.

Late to the game, but fashionably late for the party!
I'm here to put some life into LW, and if you still read this, I hope you'll stick with us!
