Another Vid of HL2: Wars from BTT :)

Post by BigtimeTripod » Mon May 27, 2024 8:02 pm

Hello again.

So im here again with another video. I like what you people have done with the HL2 coding and the way you have turned it upside down and made FPS into a RTS.

This time i "tried" to play as rebel and 2v2 with CPU-s, but it ended in a bloody mess. :d The second part i wanted to play the overrun and show it ,but idk what happened. I think its a bug or something but zombies stopped spawning and stuff like that. Take a look your self what happened and decide for your self.

Keep up the great job you people are doing with this mod.

Also added a poll so i can get somekind of a feedback from you guys. Hopefully you will atleast leave a vote :)

Well I'd like to see more stuff.
Would suggest you two things:
1.Try to keep same voice volume, some times it hard to hear you.
2.You don't have to comment all the time, people can see stuff by themselves.

Also you may try to record your voice separately, so you can clean it up from background noises.

Thank the heavens! I have been waiting for this kind of feedback for a month now. I have been thinking about recording voice separately, but the fraps records both video and microphone so i guess i just got lazy and stopped to look more about that stuff.

About the 2., i just sometimes (well i guess all the time) like to think out loud. :D Ill try to keep it more in my head next time. :d

1. As the Fraps does record the microphone and game audio at the same time, then keeping them on the same level is very hard. For instance, while i'm recording the sound level is 40 (windows 7 if confused) and Fraps movies record volume or smthing is 1 and sometimes still the game sound goes way over my own voice. So the idea of recording microphone and game audio separately is one of my top priorities from now on. Gives more space to work with and better sound quality aswell i hope.

But seriously, this kind of feedback is a godsend. :d So if anyone out there sees anything they don't like, let me now, because i'm doing this for you people, not for my self.

If recording both your mic and game sound seperatly is too much hassle, you can always lower the game volume as it doesn't effect your mic volume.

And thinking out loud isn't a bad thing becouse it can cover up otherwise silence parts of the video. You just have to make sure the game volume isn't too loud for us to hear your voice.

Also a big tip: It sounds like you're not wearing a headset which will make your mic pick up your game sound and your own voice too which causes the sound to sound a bit more unclear. If there is one thing you really have to do while recording, is wearing a headset.

Editing in sony vegas is pretty easy. But yeah, i would have to find a program then to record only my voice and then also record game with fraps. It can get complicated, but its doable.

The thing about headset is good. I after i uploaded the video to youtube and watched it (i control the video then ,because youtube does some editing aswell, witch can end up real bad) i realised that my voice was getting buried under the game sound.

Thank you once again. :)

Xsplit is an amazing program. It can do the game and your voice separate. There's just a one time license fee if you want to unlock the feature to hook it into the game and record the graphics directly.
