A small concept I made for a dungeon keeper style game in source engine (just for fun):
This would cover pretty much the required basics:
* Dynamically creates a grid of blocks when the map is loaded (in this video 128*128=16384 blocks)
* Possible to select the blocks as player.
* Provides an Imp unit that will move to the nearest reachable selected blocks and will attack those blocks.
* At the place of destroyed blocks a navigation area will be created and connected to nearby areas.
