Question: Has the new steam and Half Life Update completely destroyed this mod?

I think he's refering to the update that allowed it to run on Mac, or atleast it coincided the release of Mac support, I know for sure that it broke Synergy and SMod.
Good mappers do it right, the best mappers do it right over 20 times without losing their sanity.

You might have speed cheats on or wall hacks just to see.
But I've got the same ones running so just try and fuck with me!

That's because they are too lazy to use Source SDK Base XXXX as a base of their mod. Valve intended those to be used as bases for mods. They don't update those games. However stuff like Episode two is possible updated, so you can expect your mod to break down in case you use the engine of that game.

Dammit Valve, you folks there should at least give a warning to every faithful Mod Team and the individual Modders out there, before you'd even update your own games! Curse you all and your unexpectedness!

So Half Life 2 Wars doesnt even run off the Half Life 2? Just uses it's models and the Source engine? I could understand how Synergy would use them and HL2W wouldn't considering HL2W uses completely different shit.

Great. So, from the sound of things, the update that made a million half life 2 mods unplayable won't affect this one because the HL2 Wars dev. team were awesome enough to rewrite the game with a completely new script and source code. Awesome! :wink: Well that was lucky!
