Well, what have you been playing lately?
I've been enjoying relaxing to Cities: Skylines and trying out some of the Greenlight survival games like The Long Dark, Stranded Deep and The Forest. Besides that I'm on my usual diet of sucking at competitive CS:GO.

As much as I love HL1, Xen fauna don't really make sense as a race - by the time of HL2, they have been liberated from Combine tyranny thanks to Freeman defeating Nihilanth. On a more practical level, we have few resources to model, texture and animate so many custom units - I don't think Black Mesa...

Most games are decided in the first 5 minutes even if it takes another 15 to finish the game. Map control is the only thing that really matters.

We would need to see examples of larger outdoor environments. But we don't really "hire" level designers, we just add good custom maps into the mod. You're welcome to go ahead and make a map and we can give you feedback and potentially add it to the mod if it is good enough!

Unfortunately since we can only provide a few dedicated game servers most multiplayer matches take place locally which accounts for some of the performance and latency issues.
I agree though that Canister and Antlion spam are both a problem. We will address this.

I'm afraid the British accent (as awesome as it is :P) wouldn't work right for the Combine, since all of Valve's voice acting is typically with an American accent and we try to avoid anything that might detract from making the game feel like an authentic Half-Life 2 experience. I get this issue sporadically as well (and have been for like a year), but I can't seem to reproduce what causes it. I do know for a fact I have seen colored flags visible on the minimap that I had not had vision on.

That's fine, just try your Combine FX on the existing lines and we'll see how that goes before providing dialogue. It should sound reminiscent of the Overwatch FX in HL2 without being too hard to understand. Thanks for your time

Adding cut units like the assassin or cremator would be hard as we don't have someone to model, rig, animate, and skin those assets. Even semi-implemented units like Crab and Mortar synths are incomplete.
