[WIP] WMP_City12

hiho,
Since a few days iam working on my first HLW map with the name "City12" (like City17 ^^)

Ok, now some informations about the map.

Name:
City 12

Player:
1vs1 (maybe 2vs2)

Setting:
City or a little City with some forest etc. (don´t know if the city setting is good for antlions)

Mode:

- Capture the Flag
- Kill the enemy
(- maybe overrun)

"Daylight":
I think this map plays at night. I like the bullet effects from the combine at night. :D

Status:
Right now iam sitting on creating buildings, details etc. There is a lot of work so i hope i can release a beta soon. :)

Problems:
Big problems are:

- Create the light-spots at the right position
- Find the right props for my map
- Make the map feel realistic
- Create enough space for units and buildings.

Future:
- I want to build an highway through the hole city. (Maybe later for cars from combine or something else).
- Sometimes there will be flying combine gunships over the city
- Birds are flying in the city
- I will create a town-hall
- some more things

Looks very nice, but about the gunship passing by. don't know if the gunship is in hl2wars? since all npc's have to be recoded and stuff.
can't wait to see more footage.

i hope i can release a beta soon.

hiho,

Some progress....

Media-Update:

I decided to create the map first without any lights, its better for testing props etc. Later i will place all the lights.

Here some Progress:

(A small parking-area under a train bridge)

(A big street where stider can walk and cars can drive (i hope there will be strider ^^). This place is also good for big fights.)

(A warehouse where u can look into.^^)

(The bridge with some wagons.)

(Under the bridge there is a lot of waste and 3 empty beds where some people live. ^^)

Wow, that is a big difference! without the lights!
anyway, can't wait to play/test this. Keep it up.

another thing, will the map be big?

Cool, that map you're making is looking good. Hope to see it released anytime soon alongside pandango's maps! :D Keep it up!

If its a multiplayer map, change the prefix to wmp, this means Wars Multiplayer

Update:

Bad news. I decided to cancel the map and make another one which is smaller. I got an problem which makes the 4 displays in the editor black. I can create things but don´t see the grid and stuff i created. Another problem is that the map gets lost. I don´t know where my map is, so i can´t continue.

So i will work a bit on my new map. Later there will be a new thread with the new map etc. .

That happens if hammer is configured incorrectly. If you configurate hammer for hl2wars, you must use source sdk 2007, and NOT 2009.

yep but if i change the values back to standart SDK 2007 settings, it don´t works too.
