Crashes on startup.

MountFilesystem( 312 ) failed: SteamMountFilesystem(4560,312,0x26fdfd64=,0x26fdfc54) failed with error 5: No Steam Content Servers are available

That was the only error I got when I first launched hl2 wars.

Before launching it, I launched hl2, ep1, ep2, source sdk base, source sdk base 2007, portal, tf2, hl2 lost coast, AND HALF LIFE 2 DM, just to make sure it wouldn't crash, because i read of people not being able to play it here. And of course, it crashes on startup. Any ideas?

Maybe uninstall, redownload version 0.5 Half Life Wars and reinstall that one to account for possible corrupt data. After installation, restart steam and update anything on source or, if you can, on HL 2 Wars and open it. You may want to restart your computer to make sure it is ready. If that does not work, then something is wrong with your source sdk base thing or ep2 or ep1. If not then you may have a faulty computer, maybe old, out of date or something like that. System files and computer components aren't my speciality but I have had problems with things not running because they are not recognised by the computer.

Sadly, sometimes the only thing for you to do is reinstall the whole of steam. I did this once and it fixed everything, game freezes and such. Now its all messed up again on my computer, but reinstalling the whole of steam works for a little while at least. Half of it is just because valve mess up alot.

lol Sean, any problem caused by steam can be solved by deleting the "clientregistry.blob" file in the steam folder.

Open steam/steamapps/sourcemods/hl2wars/gameinfo.txt
Then replace the line "Game |all_source_engine_paths|hl2" with "Game hl2"
Restart steam and see if that helps.

Oh yeah, i did that once too, but that was ages ago and i forgot. Yeah my way works too if your expierencing a hell of a lot of bugs and that don't help, but takes alot longer, your ways alot more advisable.
