Game is not well optimized

Yesterday I tried Lambda Wars, and I noticed that the game is not optimized. While I can run CSGO on Max at 60 fps, I can't run Lambda Wars on Max at 60 fps. It seems like it is running at 20 FPS.

Is the game not optimized or the view that makes it look like its not optimized?

It runs fine on my laptop where I develop things on, I get around 30-40 fps. What are your specs?

I5 3570K @ stock clock
8GB RAM DDR3
Windows 8.1 x64

There's a friend of mine with comparable specs (I believe a weaker nvidia card) that has a lot of trouble getting the game to run above a crawl himself. I'll see if I can't get a hand on his specs to see if there's something in common.
I run a sapphire amd card myself and receive great performance

Is everything laggy, including the main menu?

I used to have lots of lag before the 15th December update.

Right now it must run fine, for exception with many units doing the same action at the same time (e.g. throwing grenades/summoning units/shooting/moving).

Could you please describe your problem in detail? When it starts lagging, does it lag all the time, etc.

My buddy's problem was unrelated to Lambda Wars as it turns out, and his runs just fine now aside from not being able to zoom in/out in game. Thought it would be worth updating on
