I'd like to throw out a few strategical ideas to implement into the game.
Squad Designation
Selecting a group of units and merging them into one group. The group appears on the side of your screen as a tab. Click on the tab, and you automatically select everyone in the group.
Control points in the middle of larger maps have buffs, such as pop increase by 5, or extra req per second, or units defending have more health....etc
More natural enemies like in certain maps. Antlion hives/Zombie infested buildings etc.
Varying Fortifications
Tower: Holds four units, grants sight increase of 120?
300hp, upgrade to include a manned turret?
Can be knocked over and destroyed by charging Hunters, Antlion Guards...etc.
Wall: Holds no troops, blocks enemies.
Starts with 500hp. Each upgrade fortifies its health, similar to control points.
Bunker: Holds eight units, costly to build.
Can be upgraded to include a ramp for units to climb ontop of it.
Foxhole
Hides two units inside, cheap to build.
Undetectable by enemies, unless observer or scan used.
100hp.
Spikes (Not sure what combines would use, laser fences maybe?)
Instantly kills Hunters who charge into it. 100hp
Regular units take damage when trying to move through them. Stealth/scout units do not.
AA
Shoots headcrab canisters out of the air before they hit
Cannot target ground units. Expensive to build. 500hp.
