I don't know if the rest of you know, but manned turrets are pretty damn overpowering, whether you're the rebels or the combine. Their price, 25 requisition and 15 power/scrap is laughably low if you know what you're doing. You could set up an unbreakable perimeter of 6 or so, depending on the map, in a short amount of time. Then you can have the manned turrets cover eachother, corners, and flanks, and then even the hard AI (not that it's the best) won't be able to touch you until they start bringing in stuff like grenades, snipers, striders, or what-else-have-you.
Even then, you could just use stuff like medical bays or autoheal stations to keep the people manning them alive and well, and engineers or stalkers to repair the stuff as it's getting damaged or afterwards when you've killed everyone.
Speaking of getting damaged, the manned turrets also happen to have a shamefully LARGE amount of HP. Even the oh-so-OP combine sniper has a hard time doing any long-term damage if there's stalkers or engineers nearby.
The AI also likes to target the buildings before the people, making it even harder to destroy such an establishment of manned turrets. All the while, 6 manned turrets shooting at a single rebel or soldier at once will take it out in well under a second.
Even armies of 20-40 generic soldiers can't bust through because of the sheer amount of damage being put out, the gunners not dying from being healed, and the engineers/stalkers fixing the damn things all the time.
I dunno, maybe it's just me. What do you guys think?

Most of the units in this game consists of infantry which makes the turrets pretty powerful against them. The only way to solve this problem is to start building armored units like vehicles which are highly resistant to bullets.

Some of the stuff wasn't screenshotted here, but this is basically what happened. I started infecting the map with more turrets and barrel traps with a surplus of Engies, eventually I had control of half the map, and I took out friggin' battalions of Elites, I also used a few saboteurs to destroy the guys holding flags.

I agree that they should have their cost doubled, but they should also be able to be individually upgraded to an airboat/hunter chopper gun, as seen in the canals, there are 4 mounted in a tower. For another 50 req, 100 scrap you basically add spread. For combine only they should be able to be individually upgraded into fixed sniper rifles for 50 req, 50 power.
