man i really like the idea of walking over to a gun and :D upgradeing it'ed be a first for rts games wait no i take that back. they did it in c&c generals the gla vehicles
and Company of Heroes where the hud is based on lol...

First off i want so say Hello, i just joined this community and the mod is great btw. And i'll be around for a while, hopefully for a long time. Well.. Let's not go all offtopic now shall we. Perhaps this thread is dead but i would really like to keep it alive a while longer. You see, i have this problem with alot of bodies and weapons on the ground when i've been killing/dying alot in-game. This causes massive lag the more deaths.. I would like to know if there is a command for a "body/weapons limit"? To limit how long bodies/weapons can stay on the ground until it disapears or just how many bodies/weapons can stay on the ground until new bodies/weapons appear. I know there are commands like these for other Source games so i would just like to know if there is one for this game, since almost all Source games are based on the same basic commands etc.. I thought there would be, anyways.. I hope i will get a quick reply since i'm currently playing this awesome mod but can't continue because of the lag. I've already been reading around on the forum and searched in a few configs but haven't come across any usefull command yet. Perhaps "mp_decals" is a bit close but not what i'm looking for, "mp_decals" only changes how many bullet holes/spray logos and those kinda things should appear in-game before new ones appear. Default = "mp_decals 200".

This is an issue which is being fixed, on versions after 0.5 (cant remeber if 0.5 does this) body's of antlions disappear after a few seconds in order to reduce the amount of lag that could occur. Weapons could do but i havent relised as my PC is abit to high spec to notice any lag from lots of excess guns and what-not lol.

I see, thanks for the reply and the info. I will wait for the next patch/update then :) Btw it lags alot when people get killed at the same spot, there will be a bunch of weapons kinda glitching around with each other wish causes the lag so what i did to prevent more lag was to throw a grenade near the weapons so they flew away in different directions. It actualy helped "alot", so if anyone get this annoying lag and you see that there is alot of weapons on the same spot on the ground i suggest you throw a grenade close enough so that the weapons will fly away in different directions preventing them to touch each other. If you lag and do this you will notice that it actualy works. This could also happen in any Source game if to many weapons are to close to each other, like a pile of weapons. I've experienced that in the game "Zombie Panic! Source" so the solution is to move the weapons away from each other. Until this has been fixed the grenade will be your solution :D

The bodies do disappear in v0.5, but they will only disappear when you don't look at them.

So far i've figured that the bodies does not effect the lag, atleast not on my computer. It's when there is a pile of weapons/ammo/items touching each other making them like glitch around with each other, it's like everytime they touch each other they kinda bump around, they start to move like jumping up and down, side to side. You can barely see that they're moving but if you look closely you can see them moving. So right now it's the weapons that is the problem. I would like the weapons to disapear after a certain amount of time. Lets put it like this for an example: You're the commander of the rebels, you command the rebel type that can build to build 8 turrets on one side of the bridge, the combines keeps coming in waves over this bridge and they keep dying by the bullets of the turrets, when about 50 combines has died on that bridge there will be lying 50 weapons on that bridge, sure the bodies are also there but that's not the point, 50 weapons are lying there in a big pile and they start bumping around with each other causing annoying amounts of lag. To prevent this fram happen there should be a timelimit before the weapons disapears after they've been droped on the ground. About 30 seconds to 3 minutes would be enough to prevent the weapons from making a big pile. So if a wave of 4 combines move to this bridge every 40 seconds it would end up with a bunch of weapons within 6 minutes, a timelimit would be what most people need to prevent their game from laging. Perhaps this is more of a suggestion but still, i'm just saying what i think would be good for some players. For those people that actualy want a big pile of weapons lying here and there that has a computer that can handle more than is neccesary it could also be good with the timelimit to be a command so that they may choose their timelimit their selfes or if there should be a timelimit at all. This could only make things better, not worse.

Have you even tried standard commands for HL2? Like:

g_ragdoll_fadespeed 600 - After that time ragdolls disappear.

g_ragdoll_maxcount 8 - Max ragdolls count.

cl_detaildist 1200 - Distance after which prop_detail (grass) disappears.

cl_phys_props_enable 1 - Disables clientside physics props (must be set before loading a level).

cl_phys_props_max 300 - Maximum value of props.

All of the shown values are default ones.

My computer can handle alot, it's just the part when weapons are droped at the same location it causes lag. The weapons are the problem, nothing else. I need the weapons to disapear, nothing else. Nothing else....

I must say something here: if ya make this unit_create_c npc_combine_s (with a weapon of course) he will throw grenades to enemies automatically and it doesn't cost resources lol. there's to tha Perfect form to do something everybody wanted in the game: create a combine soldier with ar2: npc_create_equipment weapon_ar2 and then unit_create_c npc_combine_s

i tried changeing team with change_team_rtsid command but doesnt work why?
