Hello everyone.
I just relised i need a radio intro and radio exit tune/sound and its proving rather difficult to find a good one.
If u dont know what i mean think to Call of Duty 4 and evertime the base contacts you it make that bleep noise.
About 2 seconds long would be good and a diffrent one for the rebels and the combine (im sure the combine already have one but ill have to check that) so at least the rebels would be good.
The Best Will be incoporated into the radio chat disscussion when giving an order to a certain unit.
And runners up may have their radio intros/exits incorpoated in one of my sound pieces or backup radio pieces.
Also i have been working on getting a decent combine accent for the past few weeks and i may have finnaly stubeled across one which you can understand and sounds combineish.

On that site i have uploaded 3 test pieces from one of my voice actors in the downloads section. Download them, listen to them and please comment on them and you can be as critising as you want as this will help me get the perfect voice for combine audio.
Good Luck Hunting/Recording/Listening =)

I understand what you want...
hmm... yeah the combine you have it and it's great, but the rebels, it is kind of even difficult to think of what they can have... a violin? =P

I know what you can have for the rebels!
Like you know on the normal radio when you are looking for a station, and where there is no station, it goes like "SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" (White Sound). So you can have like from White Sound to massege and back. Example: "PTSHH -- You have a new mission! -- PSHHT"

In case you haven't found it, the combine on/off sounds are located in the source sounds gcf under both root/hl2/sound/npc/metropolice/vo and root/hl2/sound/npc/combine_soldier/vo as on# and off#.
Under these same folders it looks like you have pretty much all the combine radio clips you'll ever need:
- idle chatter
- reporting in/on duty chatter (bonus: includes chatter such as "unit is 10-18 standing by")
- attack chatter (with such fun ones as "pacifying")
- take cover chatter (one is actually "moving to cover")
- move chatter ("moving to arrest position" and such)
- moral breaks ("shit!", "officer down i am 10-99!", "11-99, officer needs assistance!" and various)
- generic affirmatives ("copy", "copy that", "10-4")
- hardpoint chatter ("dismounting hardpoint" "in position at hardpoint" for mounted weaponry)
They also have various vehicle idle, move and attack sounds, but nothing specific for vehicle chatter; I figure there are some workarounds here:
- combine hunter-chopper is manned, not a synth; just preclude come communications with "hunter" found in combine_soldier (so, "hunter + standing by" or "hunter + engaging, etc)
- APC is just general chatter, plus a "team is deployed and scanning" clip in combine_soldier for deployment. Otherwise, unless you wanted to call APCs "hardpoints", I don't know.
