Re: Detachable AR2 Mounted Turret

How about a compromise: There can be "Anti-Infantry" and "Anti-Armor" Cguards, the anti-inf uses a heavy ar2 like the mounted gun, and the anti-armor uses the mini singularity cannon. Sound like it makes sense? Since the Guard was pretty bulky, probably an early human/combine integration synth, befo...

Re: Combine Tech Tree

Small, large, microscopic, it doesnt matter, with dark energy it kills anything living in the vicinity. It also radiates deadly energy that light exposure can even kill you, albeit slower. They would need a massive amount of energy to generate one anyway, a whole citadel for a standard one, so a hal...

Re: Company

While theres a chance a few tanks and aircraft survived, they'd be expensive "resource wise" but a bit better than combine tech (because the Hind can carry troops and function as a gunship at the same time, unlike the blackhawk). And where are they going to get the resources for all of the rockets, ...

Re: Rebel Tank Disscussion

To put perspective on this: The rebels are about as smart as you, maby a few can use standard tools. Can you build an M1 Abrams tank, then create the software using 20+ year old computers that havent been run in years? Even if you could build a basic car from scratch, whats easier, making it into a ...

Re: possible end to rebel tank discussion??

hunter chopper guns are pretty rare, concidering rebels would have more access to mounted pulse rifles than to combine aircraft, which are usually scavenged AFTER being destroyed, thus damaging the gun and possibly making it inopporable.

Re: Company

Well the kind of chopper at the end of hl2 ep2 can be fitted with side rocket pods, so maby to ballance the game a bit the rebels could use the older russian hinds with a few rockets and its machine gun (and double it as their air transport, since hinds do have a troop compartment). Though that woul...

Re: Combine Tech Tree

For the one billionth time, they CANNOT GENERATE A PORTAL STORM. It is IMPOSSIBLE as it would kill litterally EVERYTHING around it. The best they could do was build a headcrab shelling facility or nexus type structure with headcrab cannisters or the suppresion mortar.

Re: Detachable AR2 Mounted Turret

The combine only have synths and humans to work with. The abillity to have a small fairly agile unit with a fairly heavy suppresionary weapon would be overpowered. The combine guard was strong, but slow and had a charging time, and even then, was still a rare unit, using a mini strider singularity c...

Re: Rebel Tank Disscussion

Because you can fit a soviet era supercomputer into a tank chassis? And you have a large enough tank chassis? No? I didn't think so. The rebels dont have the resources to build large tanks, and omputer parts are hard to come by since the combine controls most technology, and the computers they do ha...

Re: Rebel Tank Disscussion

The rebels were originally to favor the AK47 (though that being 80 years old in hl2, the AK74/u). Theres plenty of old weapons that are still popular, like the garande. Besides, newer tanks require advanced computer systems to work, and most likely were all assimilated by the combine. So logically, ...

Re: Detachable AR2 Mounted Turret

Your talking about a mounted pulse turret. Even a regular machine gun like the M249 is heavy, so the mounted pulse turret would severely hamper the users movement if they had to carry it, and its accuracy is probably pretty poor accuracy wise.

Re: Company

The rebels have been seen building and modifying cars, is it possible that they could use Hind-D attack helicopters (similar to the hunter chopper, but with rockets).

Re: possible end to rebel tank discussion??

Well APCs aren't tanks. The rebel APC would probably have 2 mounted pulse turrets on its sides (it being an open topped flatbed truck). Any rebel soldier could fire out, but also be shot at while in it.
